What's Happening

September 21st, 2017

There is a lot of activity in the southwest corner of Copperleaf Boulevard and Quincy for the new Copperleaf Senior Campus. Recently, they have been working on county approvals for Phase 1, which includes a 123unit assisted living complex. The new Copperleaf Senior Living Campus will eventually comprise multiple levels of care, including an independent living facility, an assisted living facility, a nursing home and memory care unit.

A pedestrian-friendly feature that is currently in the works is the development of our trail system and walking paths. Once complete, these trails and pathways will interconnect to the Arapahoe County Trail System creating a continual path that will lead to schools, local green spaces, the Arapahoe County Fairgrounds, the city of Parker and even Cherry Creek State Park (http://cpw.state.co.us/placestogo/parks/CherryCreek) while never having to cross a roadway without a crosswalk

The Copperleaf Bark Park is one of the most anticipated amenities in Copperleaf Community. Although a location has already been chosen for this canine-friendly feature, additional planning is still in development. Located in the northwest quadrant of Copperleaf, adjacent to the proposed Copperleaf Community Park near Picadilly Street and Radcliff Parkway, the Bark Park is planning to offer some great canine amenities in addition to the off-leash area.

Not has there been a lot of development activity within Copperleaf this year, but there are also many roads and interchanges being revamped to accommodate growth and expansion in the area.  One of these projects has been very active in the last year, the expansion of Quincy Avenue.  Reports from Arapahoe County indicate that E-470 intends to complete construction of their expansion project by December of 2017.  Upon completion, E-470 will be three lanes in each direction with a regional trail system constructed on the west/ north side of the highway.

Copperleaf Metro District #2 is proud to have been awarded a grant from Arapahoe County in November 2016. The Arapahoe County Open Space Grant program will allow Copperleaf Community to begin the engineering of their pedestrian-friendly, community-wide trail system.

September 1st, 2015

Beginning this fall, Arapahoe County will be expanding Quincy Avenue to add three more lanes on the south side of Quincy  between Copperleaf Blvd. and the western entrance to E-470. In addition, there will be a new stop light on Quincy at Copperleaf Blvd. and a new sidewalk on the south side of Quincy.

If you haven't been to the Ecological Park or the Arborteum lately, you should stop by.  Copperleaf recently installed several initial pieces of their community art  program -- sculptures and outdoor artwork at Copperleaf that can be found throughout the community.   Meet Pokey the Tortoise, Freddy the Frog, Lulu the Ladybug and Arthur the Ant in the Ecological Park or take a look at the "playing children" at the Arboretum entrance.  Children and parents can enjoy the splendor of these various pieces of Copperleaf’s dedication to enhance the natural beauty of the community.

On August 5, Copperleaf's newest Elementary School,  Mountain Vista Elementary, celebrated it's grand opening in style. With a ribbon cutting, marching bands, a community BBQ and more, Mountain Vista became part of the Copperleaf Community.   Students, teachers and community members enjoyed and afternoon of festivities to acknowledge the opening of MVE, another school the the top-notch Cherry Creek School District.

March 27th, 2014

Copperleaf is proud to announce the opening of the new DR Horton Sales offices on April 7th, 2014.  DR Horton will be the first builder to offer homes in the new Aspen Neighborhood of Copperleaf.  The new sales trailer will be located just East of the Arboretum Pool & Clubhouse.  DR Horton's model homes are expected to be open in early Summer.  Just another exciting new development in the growth at Copperleaf.    Come out and see DR Horton and Life in Full Bloom!

On March 10, 2014, the Cherry Creek Schools Board of Education approved "Mountain Vista Elementary" as the name of the Elementary #43, the district's newest elementary school located in Copperleaf community. The board resolution stated: " As you stand at the front of Elementary #43, everyone notices the beautiful uninterrupted views of Colorado's Rocky Mountains.
