Community Art Program

We nurture learning and creativity at every opportunity

Stemming from our community-wide commitment to lifelong learning, Copperleaf’s unique Community Art Program will provide residents and visitors with fun and inviting ways to expand their knowledge and creativity…just by strolling through our diverse parks, open spaces and community recreation areas. By integrating various forms of visual arts—including park benches, interactive sculptures and sidewalk murals--into these natural settings, the program will encourage children and adults to experience and learn about art, nature, history and our community.

A Homegrown Program
Part of what makes our Community Art Program so unique and successful is the fact that it is designed to highlight and enrich the diverse aspects of Copperleaf’s distinct neighborhoods and natural environment. Each art selection will be carefully chosen and located to complement and enhance the energy generated by our vast network of parks, open space, trails and schools. At the same time, the installations will help weave a cultural thread into the fabric of our community. With every installation, education and lifelong learning will be a central priority, with particular focus on neighborhood and interpretive signage (including tree identification).

Our program goals:
  1. Reflecting Copperleaf’s diversity of homes and homeowners, the community art is intended to be viewed by and accessible to all residents, including large and small families and individuals of all ages.
  2. All art shall be appropriately selected to respect and reflect Copperleaf’s family-oriented focus. For example, specific artwork will be selected to spark children’s imagination and creativity. All pieces are intended to be multi-dimensional and interactive.
Public Art

Our process:

  1. The Community Art Program process will be led by the owner and developer until such time as the Copperleaf Homeowners Association (HOA) is prepared to assume control. (This change in control requires the approval of the owner and developer.)
  2. Community art will be selected to promote the natural theme of each Copperleaf neighborhood and park.
  3. All art will be owned and maintained by the Copperleaf Master Association.

Please note that images shown here do not represent actual and/or current Community Art program installations. Also note that Community Art will be installed as appropriate based on developer approval and Copperleaf’s overall development plan.
