Copperleaf Wetlands Area
Designed to protect and preserve the natural ecology and habitat of the wetland environment that has existed in this area for generations, the Wetlands Park will provide a unique oasis for both residents and wildlife. The park will be home to thousands of sandbar willows, chokecherry trees and cottonwoods, as well as myriad birds, butterflies and other natural wonders. Located near Picadilly Street and Radcliff Parkway, the Wetlands Area also will provide a unique benefit to Copperleaf’s nearby elementary schools, creating a natural outdoor “classroom” to explore and learn from year-round.

Open Space, Parks and Trails
At Copperleaf, the environment is a natural extension of your home. So you’ll need only step outside your door to take advantage of countless learning opportunities and adventures every day. Copperleaf’s Community Art Program
Our Community Art Program will use a variety of visual arts throughout our parks, open spaces and community recreation areas to engage and educate onlookers. Informative Signage
Ever wonder what kind of tree that is? Or how long it took to create that sculpture? Copperleaf will install informative signage at key locations throughout the community to help educate people about the surrounding natural habitat and/or man-made structures and artwork.

Nearby Attractions
Just a short distance away, you’ll find a diversity of resources that offer fun and inviting learning opportunities for the entire family, such as the nearby Plains Conservation Center. Located in east Aurora, this family-friendly attraction provides a unique "window" into what life was once like on Colorado prairies. Originally set aside to help educate farmers about less erosive plowing techniques following the devastation of the 1930s dustbowl, this 1,100-acre spread is today home to original and reconstructed remnants of early pioneer and Cheyenne settlers. It's also serves as a natural habitat for area plants and wildlife, including antelope, owls and eagles.
