What’s New in Copperleaf? Community Update

Copperleaf has seen some vast improvements recently, and we strive to enhance our community as each day passes. Below we’ve listed some upcoming projects as well as some updates on current projects and events happening in the Copperleaf Community.

Trail System

A pedestrian-friendly feature that is currently in the works is the development of our trail system and walking paths. Once complete, these trails and pathways will interconnect to the Arapahoe County Trail System creating a continual path that will lead to schools, local green spaces, the Arapahoe County Fairgrounds, the city of Parker and even Cherry Creek State Park while never having to cross a roadway without a crosswalk.

This will not only add additional walking trails through our community, but it will also create an opportunity for safer walking, running, biking and a whole host of other family friendly activities right outside residents doorways. The planning of these trails has been made possible thanks to an Arapahoe County Open Space Grant that was awarded to us in November of 2016.

Senior Living Campus

The new Copperleaf Senior Living Campus will be located at the southwest corner of Copperleaf Boulevard and E. Quincy Avenue and will host multiple levels of senior housing as well as a nursing home and memory care unit. This facility will not only improve the quality of the neighborhood but also bring more jobs to the local community.

The assisted living phase has already begun and plans to be open by 2018. In its entirety, this state of the art facility will include five different levels of care, high-tech amenities, concierge services, 5-star restaurants, a performing arts center and so much more. The goal is to make the Senior Living Campus something far greater than your average senior facility. Once completed, we hope residents and visitors will see this not only as an addition to the community but a destination within the community.

Copperleaf Summer Jam 2017

Our past Summer Jam events have been nothing short of amazing, and we expect Summer Jam 2017 to be just as fun and full of excitement. This third annual outdoor concert festival will be held on August 13th from noon to 4 pm at Western Park in the Ponderosa neighborhood. A fun day filled with family-friendly music by That Eighties Band, delicious food, and other kid-friendly activities, including contests and giveaways. Don’t forget, this event is free and open to the public – not just Copperleaf residents. So invite your friends and family!

Community Events & Activities

Summertime means the initiation of community garage sales. Although each neighborhood has a different schedule, you’ll want to be sure you join in on the fun and scope out what your neighbors have to offer. And remember, it’s never too early to start gathering your garage sale goodies.

Other fun events happening in the community for adults and kids alike include a multitude of wellness and fitness classes, ice cream socials, popsicle parties, bouncy house events, barbecues, pool parties, game nights and much more. And by popular demand, Active April is back for another month of fun in 2017. A chance to meet your neighbors and get healthy all at the same time, Active April will include exercise activities like PiYo, Fit Camp, Yoga, and 20/20/20.

Last but not least, our residents have spoken, and we’ve listened. This year we are looking into hosting our first fitness run. Once we have details in place, we will make a formal announcement. Keep your eye on the HOA calendar for event updates including times and locations for all the above-listed activities and more!

New Neighborhoods

As Copperleaf grows and expands, we are excited to introduce new neighborhoods to the Copperleaf Community. One of these new neighborhoods is Bristlecone Pine which opened in January of 2017. Bristlecone Pine will include new floor plans and the introduction of “2-story paired homes” by KB Home which will be the first non-single family homes offered in Copperleaf.

Richmond American Homes is also building a new neighborhood, featuring single family homes, located just east of Mountain Vista Elementary and north of the Aspen neighborhood. Land development has already started, and homes may be available as early as 2017. Remind your friends who rent that now is the time to invest in a home within the community and establish some roots.

Bark Park

The Copperleaf Bark Park is one of the most anticipated amenities in Copperleaf Community.  Although a location has already been chosen for this canine-friendly feature (see map), additional planning is still in development. Located in the northwest quadrant of Copperleaf, adjacent to the proposed Copperleaf Community Park near Picadilly Street and Radcliff Parkway, the Bark Park is planning to offer some great canine amenities in addition to the off-leash area. The development of the Bark Park will coincide with the development of the infrastructure of Radcliff Parkway as it continues west of Picadilly. Until additional builders and partners are secured, timing on the continuation of Radcliff and the Bark Park is yet to be determined. Rest assured, we will keep you posted as we get closer to an opening date.
