While you’ve been busy with back-to-school and last-minute summer projects, the Copperleaf HOA and the resident Social Committee has been putting the final touches on a few upcoming Copperleaf Summer Series 2019 events. Add these family-friendly activities to your calendar ASAP so you don’t miss out on the fun!
National Night Out: Tuesday, August 6
Head to Western Park in the Ponderosa Neighborhood to visit with our local law enforcement, firefighters and first responders. The kids will get a chance to see emergency vehicles up close and ask questions, so they feel more comfortable around these important members of our community. The event runs from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. and food trucks will be onsite for evening snacks!
Back to School Movie Night: Friday, August 9
Let’s get the kids pumped up for another exciting school year ahead. At this year’s movie night, we’ll be featuring School of Rock, a story about a former rock star who becomes a substitute teacher at an elementary school and turns his class into an electric-guitar wielding band. The movie starts at dusk, or around 8:30 p.m at Western Park.
Summer Jam 2019: Sunday, August 11
You’ve waited for it all year long, and finally it’s time for our annual summer festival. Plan to join your neighbors and enjoy live 90s pop-rock music from The Junior Varsity Three, food trucks and other festivities from noon to 4:00 p.m. in the Western Park. This event is free and open to the public, so invite your friends who live beyond Copperleaf Community. Feel free to bring lawn chairs and blankets. Please let pets at home.
Food Truck Rally: Tuesday, August 13, 20 & 27
Keep dinner easy during these last few weeks of summer. Come out to Western Park on August 13 and 27 and enjoy a meal with your neighbors at our last few Food Truck Rallies of the season. Just added: We will also host the trucks at Geological Park in Hawthorn on August 20. All food truck visits are scheduled for 5:30 to 8:00 p.m.
Copperleaf Blood Drive: Sunday, August 18
Consider giving the gift of life by participating in our summer blood drive. Donations will be accepted from noon to 4:00 p.m. at the Copperleaf Arboretum during this weekend event. It takes less than an hour to make a positive impact on our community. We hope to see you there!
Copperleaf Pool: Today – September 1
Plan to visit the Copperleaf Pool a few more times before it’s closed for the season on September 2. Set up a playdate with your kids’ classmates so they can reconnect before school starts or have one final family weekend afternoon soaking in the sun together poolside.
